The Clean Energy Council (CEC) is the body that regulated the solar industry. Because the industry has seen poor sales and installation practice in past years, the CEC developed a certification program for companies that aspire to ethical sales and top quality installs.

The Clean Energy Council Approved Solar Retailer Programme is for companies like DQ, who sell solar and battery storage and can demonstrate their commitment to ethical sales, fair marketing practises and industry best install practises.

To quote the CEC: “The programme strives to raise the bar higher than the government’s and regulations’ minimal criteria, resulting in a higher standard of service in the solar and battery storage industries.”

Solar Retailers who have been approved have agreed to follow the program’s Code of Conduct.

Overall, Customers who purchase from one of the Approved Solar Retailers have the peace of mind, that they are purchasing their solar and battery system from a company that complies and even exceeds all applicable consumer protection rules.

CEC Accredited Installer

To become a CEC approved solar designer and installer one must have an electrical licence, obtain the working at heights certification, be up to date with industry training requirements, have a good understanding of solar system designs and gain the appropriate public liability insurances.

All of our inhouse staff the lead the solar and battery install crews are CEC accredited installers and are fully qualified to design, install and commission solar and battery solutions.

Once the installation is completed, they have the qualifications and authorisation to submit papers to the local Adelaide energy distributors.

Finally, accredited installers are individuals, not businesses. DQ Electrical, for example, is not an Accredited Installer, but all of our installations are completed by CEC Accredited Installers allowing for safe and reliable solar systems to be installed on your home.
